Doctors should talk, not type.
Tuned Loop builds voice and AI tools for work people still do by hand. Our first product, USGScribe, lets doctors dictate ultrasound reports straight into the MS Word templates they already use.
Free early access. Windows 10 and 11, or Chrome and Edge on any computer.
An unedited recording at normal speed. The doctor never touches the mouse: saying “replace liver” and “replace impression” moves the cursor to the right line.
Why this matters
People speak at 150 words a minute. They type at 52.
Ultrasound reports are still mostly typed by hand: the same organ names, the same measurements, the same normal findings. General dictation tools mishear medical terms and don’t know how a report is laid out.
Averages from the National Center for Voice and Speech and a study of 168,000 typists at Aalto University.
How it works
It types into the report you already have.
- Click where the finding goes. In MS Word or any other program. The clinic’s letterhead, format and printer stay the same.
- Press Ctrl Shift Space and speak. A small tray app listens. A USB foot pedal works too.
- Text appears each time you pause. Measurements, punctuation and standard sentences come out the way reports are written.
MS Word 365 on Windows. The right kidney finding and the impression were dictated.
Under the hood
Built for how reports are written.
Speech recognition that knows radiology wordsWhisper large-v3-turbo, with a prompt that leans it toward ultrasound vocabulary and Indian and British spelling.
A report-aware text layerRules turn spoken numbers into measurements, voice commands into punctuation, and short phrases into full standard sentences.
Private by designReports stay on the doctor’s computer. Only the audio is sent for transcription, and API keys stay on our server.
| The doctor says | The report gets |
|---|---|
| sixteen point two centimetres | 16.2 cm |
| ten point four by four point six centimetres | 10.4 x 4.6 cm |
| grade one fatty liver | grade I fatty liver |
| impression colon | Impression: |
| replace liver … | Rewrites the liver line with what you say next |
| insert normal kidneys | Both kidneys are normal in size, shape, position and echotexture. |
Roadmap
Where USGScribe goes next.
Shipped, Sep 2026
Desktop app and web editor. Windows tray app that types into Word, a browser editor with report templates, printing and .docx export.
Next
Structured reports with AI. Dictate freely, and a language model turns it into a formatted report: findings under the right organ, a clean impression, and a check for missing sections.
Next
Voice navigation. “Next field” and “go to impression”, so a whole report can be filled without touching the keyboard.
Later
Clinic accounts. Shared templates and phrases across a clinic’s doctors, with signed installers for Windows and Mac.
Mission
Take the typing out of skilled work.
Doctors, and many other experts, spend hours every day turning what they already know into typed documents. We build tools that let them say it once and get a finished, correct document back. We are starting with ultrasound reports, where every minute saved goes back to patients.
